Unleash The Power Within 2009 Review

It has been one of my biggest dreams to attend an Anthony Robbins seminar, Live! I created this dream way back in 2002…

…Fast forward to September 2009. A series of moments I will treasure forever. Moments I can anchor upon for conquering myself and creating for myself a powerful life state. Here are my highlights from this life-changing program.

Day 1 – The Firewalk Experience

The first day of Unleash the Power Within started around 1pm.

I was already waiting at Singapore Expo around 9am imagining how I was to walk barefoot on blazing red hot coals. Tony Robbins (in the videos I have watched) has always downplayed the firewalk merely as a metaphor. I cannot wrap my mind on such downplaying because even as I know of it as a metaphor for conquering fears; they were so BIG that they stop me right on my tracks. The image of the HOT coals appear very real in my mind. (it did not help to know that there are no tricks involved.)

But then, Tony introduced us to the Power of being in Peak State. Suddenly, the fear of getting burned was no longer a factor in my life as i know that the incredible state i learned how to be in would protect me from the fear that stops me. What was even more remarkable about what Tony has taught is that you can immediately apply it. My wife only arrived around 7pm, the same time when Tony was already instructing the audience how to do the Firewalk and she was able to do it successfully.

We TOOK ACTION and conquered our fears! I am so proud of my wife, myself and for being at UPW.

Day 2 – Seeing My Dreams Take Form

I know what I want, or so I thought. I have heard that thoughts are things. I have watched and read the popular materials about the Law of Attraction. But Day 2 pushed me to a higher understanding how my dreams can be turned to reality.

First the Ultimate Success Formula was explained. (1) Know My Outcome, (2) Know My BIG Why’s, (3) Take Massive Action, (4) Evaluate My Progress and (5) Change My Approach until i Get Nearer and/or Faster to My Outcome. Then this strategy was strongly supplemented by the Power of Belief. If thoughts are things, then beliefs are the mountains – they either block us or raise us to greater heights. I choose the latter.

Well, the belief i adopted is that, “I CAN!”. The big conclusion is putting my Passion in writing and reinforcing it with decision, commitment and resolve.

Day 3 – The Day of Transformation

If I was super excited about the firewalk, I was highly ecstatic of my transformation experience beyond expectations.

I became aware that Mastery is holistic and never applicable to a few areas of my or anybody’s life. There are 7 areas of constant growth which may be developed starting with the foundation in physiological accomplishment until the peak of spiritual fulfillment. The strategies in organizing resources to achieve success immediately are very helpful especially in communication and human relations – determinants of one’s quality of life.

Finally, becoming aware of one’s hierarchy of values and limiting beliefs moves your life toward the direction you wish it to be. It was very true on my part. I realigned my values with my passion and eliminated my limiting beliefs by replacing them with empowering ones – “I am Success, Creative and Abundance!”.

Day 4 – Revolutionary Insight into Health

My mind was literally cracked open by the ideas presented during this day. This is the only day when my doubts about the program were strongest because the ideas they were sharing were truly radical. What softened my stance though were two things: (1) they are not forcing us to follow what they are sharing. We can consider it as a “second opinion”. and (2) we are seeing the speakers truly manifesting the results they say we can have by trying out their proposition for a “few” days… (OK, 10 days, the minimum, is not at all few days in my calendar without meat, milk or all the other sumptuous foods I have gotten used to.).

But then, i tried it…unwillingly at first…a little supported afterwards (thanks to my semi-vegan mom!) and then i begin to enjoy it. Even if I have not fully subscribed to the 10-day challenge (…not yet! due to peer…ok i admit, due to my children’s pressure who eat more heartily with foods not highly recommended in the program…), I am beginning to feel the benefits of living healthy and happy about my improved energy. I wonder how my body would react if I fully follow the program? You and I already know the answer to that…do you? 

Bottomline, the Unleash the Power Within understated its marketing punchline when it stated:

“(The Program) is about seizing the power that is already within you and using it to lead a life of your own design, rather than one that’s been scripted for you by your environment, your history, society, or anyone else. It’s about not settling for less than you can be – in all areas of your life.”

I am astounded by the Power I have discovered within me by attending this program. I know you will too when you experience Anthony Robbins’ powerful intervention.Similar Posts:

Unleash the Power Within was by far the best ever seminar that I’ve attended here in Singapore. I didn’t actually signed up during the UPW preview since my other educational investments (internet marketing) on installment is still ongoing. On the other hand, Anthony Robbins has been one of the many top personal development coaches from my iPod Nano (4^th generation).

I’ve even shared what I’ve learned from his audiobook Unlimited Power in my blog. In my mind, I’ll be missing a lot if I will not be able to attend and see him live. So I kept on communicating thru my contact in Success Resources until I was given a good deal from the usual price and so I finally made to the event.

UPW was a non-stop action from September 4-7, 2009 at Singapore Expo. On the first day, we were conditioned to conquer our fear by Firewalking over burning coals by repeating a mantra “cool moss”.

As our group approaches the fire coals I can see from my height that only a few burned coals were left and so I became more confident since this will be a piece of cake for me. Later on, the fire walking came to a stop and saw a wheel borrow with fresh burn coals coming and spreading all over the fire walk way. My heart beats faster as I came closer and closer.

There was even a lady who gave her turn to others first until she can regain her confidence back. Now, it was my turn and my determination was still a strong as ever and just did follow as Tony Robbins had instructed us.

I walk as normal (not fast and not slow) with head above looking forward with the repeated chant of “cool moss” every step. I finished the fire walk with an ease and jumped for celebration with high fives to everyone. I was on fire.

I must admit that I felt the pain after some time and I actually got blisters the day after. I am still capable of firewalking if given another chance. The level of my mental state had dramatically increased as I will just have to remember that experience whenever I will encounter challenges in my life. I will evolve continually to be the best that I can be and conquer the field of limitless and unknown.

During those 4 days, I felt I was close to heaven since all races of different colour; religions and cultures all over the world came to one place and created the highest possible level of energy on earth at Singapore Expo.

There are no boundaries as every individual are all equal in love to one another especially to the extraordinary God sent friend, Anthony Robbins.

There was a moment at day 3, where I was really emotionally intense to the point of crying because of the pain through The Dickens Process exercise of limiting beliefs and empowering beliefs. It was like watching myself in the big screen, as the actor creating a story of success in the future through a time machined space bubble. It was like the movie Back to the Future with me as Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox).

Lastly, If you Can’t, You Must! Now I am the Voice. I will lead, not follow. I will believe, not doubt. I will create, not destroy. I am a Force for Good. I am a Leader.

Motion Creates Emotion From Boiler Room

very fast way that can change your emotion in an instance is to have motion. That is motion creates emotion. Why is that? How can that be? That was on my mind when I first heard of this phrase.

But come to think of it, when I was moving around a lot, there is a lot of emotion in me, especially when I was playing basketball. There was excitement, thrill and focus in the game that it was caused primarily by the movements that I was doing.

Have you ever seen someone who is sad? What are their postures like? That’s right, head looking down, shallow breathing, body slouching, talk slowly, sleepy eyes etc… Why do you know this? It’s because you have been sad before, so your first though will be postures that you were did when you are sad.

How about those who are passionate? What were their postures? They talk fast, move a lot, look into the other person’s eyes, tone changing high and low, etc… Do you agree that passionate people do have these qualities?

This shows you that changing your emotion is to create motion. If you want to change your state that is not positive, the solution is to move around, a lot of motions, like jumping and clapping.

So if you are a sales person who has not been getting sales in, it’s because you are not moving around. You do not believe me; watch this clip from ‘Boiler Room’. (Warning: Adult Language).

Another way is to have an anchor. It is a movement that your body remembers it is the victory moment, like giving a high five for scoring in ball games, like crunching your right hand and say yes when you got that sale, or the dance you did when you won the lottery. It can be anything that helps you to remember the moment of victory or feeling great.

Everyone’s anchor for victory is different; you will have to find out yourself.

I must confess I learn it from Anthony Robbins who is the world’s most popular success coach. Anthony Robbins will be coming to Singapore on 4^th ~ 7^th Sept 2009. And I will be writing some of the articles about what I learn from attending Unleash The Power Within Singapore back in 2004.

My Experience Walking On Fire

What are these people doing? Like a batch of crazies walking barefoot towards the hot coal, and I was with them too at Anthony Robbins “Unleash The Power Within” in Singapore 2004. I was one of the crazies.

It was the first day of the event and I knew that I was going to do the fire walk, but I though it was going to be on the 2nd day, or 3rd day or even 4th day. Never in my mind did it cross my mind that the fire walking was going to be on the FIRST night!

My mind was thinking ‘Can I be trained in less than 24 hours to walk on fire?‘ You have to forgive me because at that time I was not a frequent seminar attendee hence I did not think it was possible for Tony to make me or the people in the seminar walk on fire on the first night.

Boy, was I wrong.

I did walk on fire – it was created from wood that had been burning since the afternoon of the 1st day. So when we were conditioned by Tony and tips to walk on fire at night, we were ready to do the impossible.

Below is a video on the wood burning process done in the day, this was taken at Unleash The Power Within 2000 Hawaii. It was a smaller “Unleash The Power Within (UPW)” then, but the one I attended in Singapore 2004 had over 3500 participants, and the piles of burning wood were so much bigger than the one you see below.

Are you scared now? That was my feeling when I saw the fire burning.

After we were brought out to see the fire being prepared, we were asked to return to our seats. That was when Tony gave us tips on the fire walk. First, we were to focus looking ahead of us when walking on the path of the hot coal. Second, we were told to do incantation before we started walking. We had to chant out “Cool Moss!” when walking the hot coal. Lastly we were asked to encourage others while we were not doing the firewalking.

The reason for the first two tips was to create an energy on our feet to protect us from the heat, preventing us from being burned. Plus the law of attraction states that whatever you focus on will come true – if you focus on the hot coal, you will be burnt.

The last tip was to give back – this was done by giving other fire walkers encouragement. This is another law of the universe: You will receive what you give.

Tony also shared with us that there were people who got burnt during the fire walk. Even he himself was burnt at one time. Although he was doing all the things he shared with us – a small hot coal was caught in between the toes after walking through the fire. He was burnt then.

It was important not to lose focus or energy, before water was sprayed on your feet.

Walking on hot coal is not a joke, if you do not know what you are doing or do not have experience doing it before – please do not attempt it at home or any place. Why Tony wanted us to walk on fire was that he wanted to instill that we will always have problems, no matter what. The question is how you face the problem and solve it.

The firewalk is a lesson that you cannot forget. The fire is the problem, and the other end of the path is the solution or goals you intended. The fire walk is to remind us that however big and difficulties our problems are, as long as we focus on the goal (result), the problem will never be a hindrance to you.

Once you go through the anxiety, fear then acceptance and then finally deciding to do the firewalk – you will realize that you have to power to overcome any obstacles that lay ahead.

One lady was crying, “I’m just a chicken. A coward. I can’t do it. I can’t.”

One of Tony’s trainers worked with her for about fifteen minutes until she was finally able to turn FEAR into POWER. She did it.

I Was Teased By Anthony Robbins

Boy! His hands were huge, like banana hands, just like what Jack Black described in his movie ‘Shallow Hal’ about him. I can’t imagine shaking the same man’s hand after watching ‘Shallow Hal’ in 2001, and that was where I first got to know Anthony Robbins, or Tony Robbins.

It was only 3 years later that I got to see Anthony Robbins ‘Live’ in Singapore . It was a huge hall in Singapore Expo, people were crowding, making a lot of noise, there were dancing, singing, hugging, and best of all I was sitting right in front of the stage, furthermore it was the center of the very first front row. It was THE BEST seat in the entire hall.

Just before ending the dance on the stage, Tony appeared and led the whole hall to a stop. Then he asked us to give 10 different persons a hug, and thank them for being there. That was a experience I did not expect, but boy it feels great! We got seated down, Tony was sharing with us that he realized some of us were not doing what he told them to do. So he share why people in the first time meeting each other tend to be more taken aback, especially the Asians. Tony needed a volunteer for a experiment. Well for me I was not about to volunteer myself as I was from the NAVY, which also mean ‘Never Always Volunteer Yourself‘, and use it quite most of my time in the Navy as well.

But lo and behold, Tony’s finger pointed at me and said; ‘Sir, please come up as my volunteer.’ I was stunned for 2 seconds then finally moved my butt to the stage. Tony ask for my name, and he said that imagine that we have never met before, stretch out your hand and shake his hand. So I did as told, then Tony suddenly pull his hand back, and walked away.

Then he shared with everyone, that imagine that people doing that to you, and you will not feel good about it. So he asked everyone to always give an empowering gesture and making the other person feel good during these 4 days. Tony thanked me, and finally gave my deserved handshake to me, the first one in the seminar. And when I got a standing applause from over 4000 people, that felt good.

For the rest of the time, Tony shared so much with us that will blow you away, on your words, physical, thoughts, and focus, etc… I must say going to Unleash The Power Within was the best decision I had ever made that time. I guarantee you that you will be transformed and have the best time in your life if you decide to learn from Tony too.

The Recession Is Not An Excuse To Give Up

The world economy is in a very bad state now with unemployment rate going up due to the crisis. A lot of people are giving up now. Life is tough, and it is going to hit you and everybody hard!

You got kicked out of job, you don’t have a good education to have a good job, or you are not willing to do what is presented (new job) to you currently. So what are you going to do presently? Continue on with what you are doing, or you are living under somebody’s thumb, or even worse you complain about why is it that you are in this situation. If you do not start making changes in your life, nothing is going to change. It is insanity to do the same thing, expecting different results.You do not give yourself an excuse to give up because of the recession. Your family or loved ones might depend on you.

I have prepared for you a movie clip, a scene from Rocky Balboa, where Rocky’s son, Robert was confronting Rocky about re-entering the boxing arena (for your info, Rocky is now 60 years old ++). Robert thinks that his life is because of Rocky, Robert thinks that his life is a shadow of Rocky’s, and Robert does not like it. Rocky tells his son life is …..

Ok so now you heard Rocky, so how do you change, how to get things started?

First by creating momentum, if you are siting there now reading this article, I suggest you get a newspaper, turn to employment section and start to scan for the suitable job. After choosing around 10 suitable ones, you should be calling them straight. Before you do that I suggest you do an incantation before calling them. What is an incantation? It is repeating of word or phrases that will simulate you act accordingly. For example: “I am confident, smart and full of drive, the type that others can depend on!” If you repeat this phrase over and over and over again for 15 minutes, you will have a state change.

Another things that you can amplify this incantation by doing some movement, like crunching your fist and say : “YES! I am confident, smart and full of DRIVE! The type others can depend on!” This will get you into state very instantly.

What is the harm in doing this? You feel silly for awhile but then – no one needs to see you doing this! Try it for 15 minutes. Say it loud and clear.

Say your incantation with feeling, and use your face, your body’s posture, and your breathing to help you enhance those feelings.

For those that are facing a different situation, this is my question:

“What simple action could you take today to produce a new momentum toward success in your life?”

Repeat the sentence over and over again if you have difficulties in getting the answer. Life will always be hard if you stop becoming better than yesterday, and it will beat you till you stay there. If you want to defeat life, then you will have to stand up after life has knocked you down. Then will you be stronger and bigger than life.

The above solution was learned from Anthony Robbins in Singapore back in 2004 when I attended “Unleash The Power Within” back then, Singapore. “Date With Destiny” by is where you find balance and true fulfillment in your life.

I have been to Anthony Robbins Date With Destiny in 2005, Australia Gold Coast. Thank God, I was there! The events by Tony Robbins are always hyper and loving.

A quick info about Tony Robbins Date With Destiny are always done twice a year one in the U.S, the other in Australia. But after 2009, the Australia event will be moving to another country, most likely in Hawaii. Well that is after next year, I will talk about what I have gone through.
