Real Social Marketing Secret was conduct by Simon Leung, facilitated by Fabian Lim on 13th Mar 2010, Singapore Management University, School of Economics. I was there the whole day, where Simon was sharing most of the time, and Fabian added in some thoughts into social media marketing, using Twitter, Facebook, Video Marketing & Social BookMarking.

Social marketing has been the talk of the town (actually the talk of the world), bringing thousands of free traffic to your website or affiliate sites, thus making money daily. So how is it done then? To get thousands of visitors to website and make money out of it?

The key to the whole social media marketing is to building relationship.

Yes, it is that simple. As Simon put it that in order to build a list via your social media sites, you have to be in relationship with them. For example, you may be using Twitter to build a list, sending them to affiliate sites or even to your blogs etc, but they never seem to buy anything.

For this I was also wondering how it can be done? The trick is to talk about it without even selling it on your Twitter. This way you will get your twitter followers to find out more about what you are talking about, thus its like recommending to them. You can also use twitter to start a question, this is a great way to get your followers to engage in the talk, thus making them involve in the discussion. You will be surprise to see that by engaging with your twitter followers, you will also increase in your followers number too.

Video is also a great way to get more traffic and at the same time increase in your followers in your twitter and facebook. What you need to to is to produce very short videos of yourself, sharing on where you are, recommending things that are great after you used it. It can be done using YouTube or even 12Second.tv, as they are free and easy to use. The trick in video marketing is to show funny, or informative, or lifestyle, anything that shows that you are real.

As for Facebook, what you need to do is to set up a fan page of your own, and from there slowly build your fans. You videos and picture play a very important factor in generating traffic. What you need to do is to tag your fans in your pictures and videos, this way you will be able to give curiosity to friends of those whom you tagged, wanting to find out more. And when they come into your fan page, there is a button above the fold, asking you to join the fan page. Of course you will need to provide content, pictures and videos to get them to be your fans.

I will be trying on the the tips for twitter, become more involved in building relationship with my followers. And I was just doing what Simon told us to do, and there was an increase in my followers (20 followed me today). I am looking for more to come. Unleash The Power Within 2009 Review

It has been one of my biggest dreams to attend an Anthony Robbins seminar, Live! I created this dream way back in 2002…

…Fast forward to September 2009. A series of moments I will treasure forever. Moments I can anchor upon for conquering myself and creating for myself a powerful life state. Here are my highlights from this life-changing program.

Day 1 – The Firewalk Experience

The first day of Unleash the Power Within started around 1pm.

I was already waiting at Singapore Expo around 9am imagining how I was to walk barefoot on blazing red hot coals. Tony Robbins (in the videos I have watched) has always downplayed the firewalk merely as a metaphor. I cannot wrap my mind on such downplaying because even as I know of it as a metaphor for conquering fears; they were so BIG that they stop me right on my tracks. The image of the HOT coals appear very real in my mind. (it did not help to know that there are no tricks involved.)

But then, Tony introduced us to the Power of being in Peak State. Suddenly, the fear of getting burned was no longer a factor in my life as i know that the incredible state i learned how to be in would protect me from the fear that stops me. What was even more remarkable about what Tony has taught is that you can immediately apply it. My wife only arrived around 7pm, the same time when Tony was already instructing the audience how to do the Firewalk and she was able to do it successfully.

We TOOK ACTION and conquered our fears! I am so proud of my wife, myself and for being at UPW.

Day 2 – Seeing My Dreams Take Form

I know what I want, or so I thought. I have heard that thoughts are things. I have watched and read the popular materials about the Law of Attraction. But Day 2 pushed me to a higher understanding how my dreams can be turned to reality.

First the Ultimate Success Formula was explained. (1) Know My Outcome, (2) Know My BIG Why’s, (3) Take Massive Action, (4) Evaluate My Progress and (5) Change My Approach until i Get Nearer and/or Faster to My Outcome. Then this strategy was strongly supplemented by the Power of Belief. If thoughts are things, then beliefs are the mountains – they either block us or raise us to greater heights. I choose the latter.

Well, the belief i adopted is that, “I CAN!”. The big conclusion is putting my Passion in writing and reinforcing it with decision, commitment and resolve.

Day 3 – The Day of Transformation

If I was super excited about the firewalk, I was highly ecstatic of my transformation experience beyond expectations.

I became aware that Mastery is holistic and never applicable to a few areas of my or anybody’s life. There are 7 areas of constant growth which may be developed starting with the foundation in physiological accomplishment until the peak of spiritual fulfillment. The strategies in organizing resources to achieve success immediately are very helpful especially in communication and human relations – determinants of one’s quality of life.

Finally, becoming aware of one’s hierarchy of values and limiting beliefs moves your life toward the direction you wish it to be. It was very true on my part. I realigned my values with my passion and eliminated my limiting beliefs by replacing them with empowering ones – “I am Success, Creative and Abundance!”.

Day 4 – Revolutionary Insight into Health

My mind was literally cracked open by the ideas presented during this day. This is the only day when my doubts about the program were strongest because the ideas they were sharing were truly radical. What softened my stance though were two things: (1) they are not forcing us to follow what they are sharing. We can consider it as a “second opinion”. and (2) we are seeing the speakers truly manifesting the results they say we can have by trying out their proposition for a “few” days… (OK, 10 days, the minimum, is not at all few days in my calendar without meat, milk or all the other sumptuous foods I have gotten used to.).

But then, i tried it…unwillingly at first…a little supported afterwards (thanks to my semi-vegan mom!) and then i begin to enjoy it. Even if I have not fully subscribed to the 10-day challenge (…not yet! due to peer…ok i admit, due to my children’s pressure who eat more heartily with foods not highly recommended in the program…), I am beginning to feel the benefits of living healthy and happy about my improved energy. I wonder how my body would react if I fully follow the program? You and I already know the answer to that…do you? 

Bottomline, the Unleash the Power Within understated its marketing punchline when it stated:

“(The Program) is about seizing the power that is already within you and using it to lead a life of your own design, rather than one that’s been scripted for you by your environment, your history, society, or anyone else. It’s about not settling for less than you can be – in all areas of your life.”

Fabian Lim shared with his students in his new seminar called ‘Real Internet Secret’ that now is the time to start your internet business.

That most offline businesses are not taking seriously about their website in Singapore and in other parts of the world. The students learn four different models that can help them make money online.

Profit Model no 1: Content Publishing

Content publishing is by far the lowest in investment and the highest amount of time involved if you are writing the content yourself. Why? It’s because this model is all about giving fresh new content. If you thinking of starting a blog, content publishing is very suitable for blogging.

It is easy to set up, SEO friendly, and cheap to maintain. The main disadvantage is the time issue, and you may have to build your website traffic slowly if you are in a competitive niche. This profit model is good for those who do not have a lot of money, but have a lot of time.

Profit Model no 2: Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is by far what every Internet Marketers are doing, they will start off with this model first. Because they do not have products to sell online, so they search for profitable and useful products and promote online.

Affiliate marketing is also greatly used in content publishing, depending on the niche you are in. Experts like Ewen Chia started off as an affiliate selling other people’s product. You can use PPC to sell affiliate products online – but do note that PPC involves using your money to make money.

Profit Model no 3: Product Creation

This is the part where you need to have a product to sell online. Fabian do not recommend to beginners on Internet marketing, as he also took 3 years to produce his first online product.

To go through what was learned, find a market or demand, find out the competitors, create product, set up website and Joint Venture with other Internet marketers (you will need to know the marketers and build relationship with them first).

Joint venture is the main issue why beginners are not recommended to go into this model. They do not know anyone (internet marketers) who can also help them market to the mass market. This is where your public relation (PR) has to come in.

Profit Model no 4: Offline Business

This is by far the most numbers of success stories with his students. Almost more than 60% of his students used this model to profit from the Internet. The reason I have stated is that most offline business, do not focus on their business on the Internet – thus leaving a huge piece of pie for Internet marketers to devour easily.

Fabian has a student (Jian Yong) who started off one page website, which made Jian Yong instant profit in 2 weeks time, now Jian Yong has 20 business, that makes him $5,000 to $10,000 a month per business. He is now essentially financially-free at the young age of 21 - just by doing offline business.

The above 4 profit model highly depends on keyword research, and using a keyword research tool will make your work easy and fast for you. Remember that nothing in life is impossible, you are just lazy to do it only. With a properly written execution plan, you will see success soon.

Robert Kiyosaki said that in order to make your business successful is to use horizontal marketing to increase your success rate. Horizontal marketing means to leverage on other established companies that are related to your products or services.

What do I mean? As an established company, they will usually have a database of their clients. What you need to do is to pay the established company commission for the sale of the product or services. In this way, you are earning profit with the least advertising cost, gaining clients who are ready to buy from you, and getting your business branded as the established company.

In this scenario, you might want to pay more commission to the established company to promote to their clients, another way is to pay commission for client’s recurring purchases, which is an excellent way to secure the deal.

Horizontal marketing is to use all means to make your business known to consumers, it can be through internet marketing, joint venture (as I shared), get resellers for the product or services to promote, tissue marketing, banner advertising, word of mouth,etc… The sky is the limit. When you have tried all types of marketing, then you will realize there is only one type of marketing that will bring you the profit, you will only know after you have done all the trials.

The above sharing came from Robert Kiyosaki’s seminar where he taught me how to do business in a tough world. Business also gives the highest return on investment, compared to other forms of investment; it is also the most fulfilling too.

I’m a General Manager of a training company in Malaysia. I never think that I’m a sales person or I can do sales. I always think that my main responsibility is just to run the company as long it doesn’t make any loss. Doing sales is not my job! Think though again, if 10 minutes SGD 12,789, how much would it be in one hour? That’s SGD76, 734 no kidding! Would you be excited if your team can make SGD 76,734 in one hour?

I don’t believe I’m a sales person but I actually generated thousands of sales throughout the 5 days. Not me only but the rest are the same. There are business owners, top management; finance personnel in the room. But everyone proved to themselves that they can SELL!

The fact is EVERYONE SELLS! Blair is really a great master that he gives his whole heart to teach and coach us to be a great person. He also gives us clear picture if we wish to be a successful business person we need to know ourselves, our team and the numbers. Numbers will tell us the truth about the business performance.
